UFC President Dana White has declared in an interview to AHN.com that the Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Jake Shields "is definitely coming to the UFC". White continued his verbal onslaught on Scott Coker's promotion, calling Strikeforce a "small-time unknown organization". The signature of Jake Shields would be a huge boost to the Ultimate Fighting Championship roster, considering his ability to fight in both Welterweight and Middleweight divisions.
"Jake Shields is definitely going to leave Strikeforce, and he's definitely coming to the UFC. First of all, they put all of their eggs in the Dan Henderson basket. They went out and acquired him and thought he was worth a lot more money than we were willing to pay him [...] They're a Podunk, unknown, small-time organization. There shouldn‘t have been that many guys in the cage in the first place!"
The victory over the legendary Dan Henderson improved Jake Shields' record to 25-4-1, as his last loss was to the Japanese fighter Akira Kikuchi more than six years ago. Thirty-one year old Jake Shields is currently on an extraordinary 14-fight winning streak, with notable victories over Paul Daley, Mayhem Miller, Robbie Lawler, Yushin Okami, Toby Imada and Hayato Sakurai in his career.
