Spencer Fisher needs a coach, joins Mark DellaGrotte and Sityodtong

“I have my own gym now, and I’ve trained for my last three fights alone. I need a coach,” the 34-year-old Fisher said. “And after my last performance, it was a slap in the face. Everybody needs a coach, especially at this level, and Mark and I really click. This is a good camp. It’s a home away from home, and the only thing I do here is focus on my training and my fight. And that’s what I needed,” said Fisher, who talks to his wife and three daughters on the phone nightly. “This is good though. I miss them but I can focus on me right now. I love it. I’m clicking well with everybody. Mark’s a great man and sees some weaknesses in my game, and we’re trying to fix them,” Fisher said. “This fits my style a lot better. He’s not trying to change me up, just trying to adapt to some things I do already. Mark is really good at that and picking up things. Like I have a tendency to be off-balance sometimes, and Mark will take things that I do that are bad, so to speak, and turn them into positive things. And I’m able to strengthen up those weaknesses.”
Spencer Fisher tells the Boston Herald that after his submission loss to Joe Stevenson at UFC 104 that he realized he will need a coach to help him fix the goals in his game. Fisher is set to face off against hard hitting German lightweight Denis Siver at the Ultimate Fighter season 11 finale on June 19, where his new skills are sure to be tested on the main card.
