DREAM FC promotion have officially announced that two of the greatest Japanese Mixed Martial Artists, Shinya Aoki and Tatsuya Kawajiri will square off at the long-anticipated Dream.15 event on July 10th. Kawajiri will challenge Aoki for the Dream Lightweight Title, which "Tobikan Judan" won by defeating the "Hellboy" Joachim Hansen at Dream.11.
The fight will be a classic example for a match-up between grappler and striker. Kawajiri is currently 26-5 in his MMA cereer with 12 knockout victories, as the 23-5 Shinya Aoki holds a record of 14 virtuoso submissions. Both fighters are ranked as Top 10 Lightweights by Sherdog and USA Today.
Dream.15 will take place at the veteran Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Alistair Overeem, Melvin Manhoef, Gegard Mousasi and Katsunori Kikuno are expected to take part in the event. Unlike its predecessor, all Dream.15 fights will be held in the traditional MMA ring.
