Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion and K-1 Fighter Alistair "The Demolition Man" Overeem declared that he is ready to take any necessary test to prove he is not using steroids. After being accused numerous times by Brett Rogers' camp for using "chemical enhancements", Alistair Overeem says he is ready to return to the United States after a three year-long absence to prove everyone wrong:
"People will always speculate. I will be tested just like anybody else and like I’ve said before I weighed 235lbs in no time when I did not have to cut weight. Gaining 10lbs a year by lifting weights isn’t a big problem. Before I would cut between 22lbs-26lbs to get to the 205lbs weight limit. It was crazy.
Now that I can eat and do not have to cut anymore (with his move to heavyweight division) it was easy to put on the extra muscle weight. I feel great…People are just jealous…I don’t see or hear any of these types of accusations towards Brock Lesnar yet he is even bigger than I am. They can test me all they want. I’ll be in the states soon and I will prove everyone wrong."
Since winning his title against Paul Buentello at Strikeforce: Four Men Enter One Man Survives, Ubereem earned a prestigious 3rd spot in K-1 2009 World Grand Prix and is currently on a 7-fight MMA winning streak. Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery will take place at the Scottrade Center on May 15, in St. Louis, Missouri.
