Forrest Griffin withdraws from UFC 114 due to the shoulder injury; Lil' Nog still wants to fight

According to the rumors website TMZ.com, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin was forced to withdraw from UFC 114 due to the shoulder injury received in training. Forrest Griffin was originally scheduled to participate in the co-main event of the night against the Brazilian veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, who according to sources close to the situation still wants to fight on the card.

Fighters like Thiago Silva, Ryan Bader or even Vitor Belfort could step in and fight Minotoro, but is still unclear if The Ultimate Fighting Championship will find someone who will agree to face the Top 10 Light Heavyweight on a three-weeks’ notice.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira made his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut at UFC 106, defeating the top contender Luiz "Banha" Cane via the first round TKO. Little Nog is currently 18-3 in his Mixed Martial Arts campaign, with victories over fighters like Guy Mezger, Alistair Overeem, Vladimir Matyushenko, Kazushi Sakuraba and Dan Henderson.

UFC 114 will take place on May 29, 2010 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will be headlined by the Light Heavyweight bad-blood attraction between the Ultimate Fighter 10 coaches Quinton Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans.
